Jamie Foxx is devastated after the death of his younger sister.

The actor said his “heart is shattered into a million pieces” when sharing the tragic news that his brother DeOndra Dixon has died at the age of 36.

Oscar winner Jamie, 52, described his sister, who had Down syndrome, as “beautiful” and “loving.”

Paying tribute to DeOndra on Instagram, she shared a series of beautiful photos of her and them together.

He wrote: “My heart is shattered into a million pieces … my beautiful and loving sister Deondra has transitioned … I say she transitioned because she will always be alive … anyone who knew my sister .. .I knew she was a bright light … I can’t tell you how many times we’ve had house parties where she got on the dance floor and stole the show … she even gave her boyfriend @chrisbrownofficial a run for your money …

A source told PEOPLE that DeOndra, who was an ambassador for the Global Foundation for Down Syndrome, died on October 19.

Deondra was often depicted posing with her famous brother on red carpets and at awards ceremonies, always with a big smile on her face.
