Jamie Foxx is devastated after the death of his younger sister.
The actor said his “heart is shattered into a million pieces” when sharing the tragic news that his brother DeOndra Dixon has died at the age of 36.
Oscar winner Jamie, 52, described his sister, who had Down syndrome, as “beautiful” and “loving.”
Paying tribute to DeOndra on Instagram, she shared a series of beautiful photos of her and them together.
He wrote: “My heart is shattered into a million pieces … my beautiful and loving sister Deondra has transitioned … I say she transitioned because she will always be alive … anyone who knew my sister .. .I knew she was a bright light … I can’t tell you how many times we’ve had house parties where she got on the dance floor and stole the show … she even gave her boyfriend @chrisbrownofficial a run for your money …

“Well, I know that now he’s in heaven dancing with his wings … even though my pain is incredible, I smile when I think of all the great memories he left me … my family … and his friends … of dancing in the video blaming him … to Dancing at the Grammys … and becoming the @globaldownsyndrome ambassador … from sliding down my stairs with a smile as wide as the river grand … to serenading us with all its music … .
“Deondra you have left a hole in my heart … but I will fill it with all the memories you gave me … I love you with every ounce of me … our family is shattered but we will put the pieces back together with your love … and please keep my family in your prayers … “

A source told PEOPLE that DeOndra, who was an ambassador for the Global Foundation for Down Syndrome, died on October 19.
Deondra was often depicted posing with her famous brother on red carpets and at awards ceremonies, always with a big smile on her face.
Jamie always talked about the positive effect DeOndra had on him.

He said in 2018: “I learned to live. Sometimes we get stuck in our world with the extras of everything: ‘Ah, the Mercedes is not the right color!’
“And then you see this girl here, ‘I just want to live. I want to dance. I want to love’. So she brings you back to what life is. “
