Birmingham City have signed Scott Hogan to a four-year contract from Aston Villa. The fee involved has not been disclosed.

Hogan spent the second half of last season on loan at Birmingham, scoring seven goals in 17 appearances. He was also named Player of the Month Championship for February.

The Salford-born player joined Aston Villa from Brentford in January 2017 in a £ 9 million deal, but had a disappointing moment at the club where he scored 10 times in 61 appearances.

Along with Birmingham, he also had loan stints at Sheffield United and Stoke while on Villa’s books.

The Irish international’s last appearance for the Premier League team was in the FA Cup third round against Swansea City in January 2019.

Hogan is the eighth signing of the new season for Birmingham manager Aitor Karanka.
