Met Eireann forecasts another beautiful day on Thursday with temperatures reaching 23 ° C in some parts of Ireland.
Weather bosses are expecting plenty of sunshine across the country due to the wonderful weather Ireland has been experiencing.
Temperatures will start to drop to normal as we get closer to the weekend, but conditions will still be good at times.
A forecaster from Met Eireann said: “After a foggy start, Thursday will light up with the development of sunny spells. It will be warm and mostly dry with only a few isolated showers in Connacht. The highest temperatures of 17 to 23 degrees, the most cool on the eastern shores and warmer in the midwest and west with light breezes from the east.
“In general, a lot of dry weather until the end of the week, gradually transitioning to cooler conditions.”
Both Saturday and Sunday are expected to be sunny with occasional isolated showers, as temperatures remain in their teens.
After that, a deterioration is expected as we move into the next week.
The forecaster added: “Monday should remain dry and cool with some periods of sunshine. However, current indications suggest it will become more unstable in the middle of the week.”
Hurricane sally
The forecaster has also been updating his Twitter followers on the hurricane currently hitting the southern US.
Hurricane Sally poses a threat to life when it hits land and is part of an extremely active storm season in the Atlantic.
And while Ireland may be at the tail end of hurricanes, it is too early to know if that will happen this time.
Met Eireann tweeted Tuesday: “In keeping with what we expect in a warming world, an extremely active hurricane season in the North Atlantic has meant that names from the Greek alphabet will now be used for the second time.”
While speaking on RTE News, forecaster Joanna Donnelly added: “There is very warm air on the other side of the Atlantic.”
“You see Hurricane Paulette there, that’s for Thursday, it’s 45 degrees north in the Atlantic and it’s way to the north for an active hurricane.”
Showing the outlook for Thursday, he said: “You can see the split there with the polar front, the colder air north of that and we’ll stay in the hot air for the whole outlook period.”
“This is the current hurricane season in the Atlantic. We’re up to Vicky there, Vicky is developing off the coast of Africa, Teddy will transition to a hurricane in the next few days.
“We have Paulette and Sally, active hurricanes and Rene in the middle, it’s going to degrade, it’s a tropical depression at this stage. Incredibly active hurricane season in the Atlantic.”
