Ireland Weather: Met Eireann signals the frosty night just days away as the winter chill comes with a bang

Met Eireann is forecasting temperatures as low as 1 ° C on Saturday night when winter weather hits Ireland.

After a great start to September, the weather has taken a turn with a cold ending expected to end the month.

Weather bosses are warning people to bundle up and heat up for the weekend when the cold weather hits.

A forecaster from Met Eireann said: “Staying pretty cool and moody, but with good fall sun at times (after today).

“Outbreaks of rain will affect parts of Munster and Connacht on Friday night with temperatures lower than 6 ° C to 9 ° C.

“Dry, cold and mostly clear in much of Ulster and Leinster with minimum temperatures of 2 ° C to 5 ° C. The winds will be light and vary in direction.

“The patchy rain in the southwest is expected to wear off on Saturday to leave a mostly dry day across the country with a combination of clouds and sun.

“Highs range from 11 ° C to 15 ° C with moderate breezes from the northeast. It appears to be dry and mostly clear on Saturday night.

“It is possible that it will turn cold with some frosts, since the minimum temperatures range between 1 ° C and 5 ° C with light winds. There is also some fog and fog.”

Sunday night will see a big improvement with temperatures around 10 ° C at an all time low.

Next week also looks to bring bouts of heavy rain and temperatures will rebound slightly.
