Met Eireann has issued a ‘snow warning’ as the entire country will be affected by some form of winter conditions in the final days of 2021.
Wednesday in Dublin will start with icy and icy conditions that will remain dry at all times and sunny spells will unfold.
Temperatures of 3 ° C will drop to -2 ° C and become very cold overnight with more frost and icing.
New Year’s Eve in Dublin, according to Met Eireann, will be a “windy day with a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers, turning wintry in some places, with the risk of hail and isolated thunderstorms.”
This forecast comes when there is a snow / ice advisory until 12pm today for Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.
Met Eireann says: “More snowfall in some places this morning causes accumulations in some areas.”
Here’s what the weather looks like from New Years Eve onwards:
NEW : “A breezy day tomorrow with a combination of sun and scattered showers, turning wintry in some places, with the risk of hail and isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures higher 4 or 5 degrees, but feel colder with fresh winds and gusty north. Dry with in many areas as rains recede to coasts, more frequent on north and west coasts with continued risk of hail. Lower temperatures 0-4 degrees. North winds will ease mostly moderate. ”
ENJOY: “A bright, dry day for many areas with scattered rains affecting coastal counties, especially in the north and northwest. Highest temperatures 4 to 7 degrees with mild to moderate north winds. They get very cold in the morning. night in clear periods with frost and ice Stays dry in many areas with showers mainly on the north and west coasts. Low temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees with a light breeze from the northwest “.
Saturday : “A cold and cool start to Saturday. Some showers near the coasts can move further inland with a moderate breeze from the north, but many places will be dry with sparkling spells. It will be cold with maximum temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.
Saturday night: Very cold Saturday night with widespread frost and ice. Dry and clear in many areas with rainfall affecting the coastal regions. Lower temperatures of -2 to 0 degrees with light winds from the north. ”
Sunday : “Frost and ice will slowly clear during the morning. Another mostly dry day with bright winter sunshine; however, the rains will continue to affect the coasts. Higher temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees with a north breeze from mild to moderate. Sunday night will be cold with temperatures dropping near or below zero, and frosts developing with light winds. ”
Monday : “Cold again with rain in exposed coastal areas, but elsewhere it will remain dry. Temperatures will be only a few degrees above freezing with a moderate breeze from the northeast. Nighttime temperatures will drop below freezing with frost or ice probably”.
