Ireland Lockdown 2021: The Seven Key Rules You Should Know As Level 5 Kicks Off

[ad_1]

Final changes to the Irish lockdown in January will go into effect later this week.

The biggest change will be the reduction of domestic visitors from another household to zero as of January 1.

Of course there are some exceptions, the advice says: “Visitors are not allowed in private homes / gardens (except for essential family reasons, such as providing care to children, the elderly or vulnerable, or as part of a bubble of support).

Travel outside of your county is prohibited beginning at midnight on December 26 and that does not change on January 1.

However, people are still allowed to make their only trip home from where they spent Christmas.

The only other big change in January from what already went into effect on St. Stephen’s Day is the number of weddings.

Those getting married by January 2 can have 25 guests; As of January 3, that number drops to just six.

Wet restaurants and pubs will be closed, except for take-out and delivery, while hotels can only serve guests.

Places of worship will be back online, as has been the case for much of the year.

And retail will be allowed to stay open even though January sales are not allowed.
