Ireland Coronavirus Case Breakdown by County: Two Counties See Big Jump as Numbers Continue to Rise

Now 22,760 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Ireland and 1,446 sadly died of the deadly disease.

Another 18 people have died and 219 more have been confirmed to have the virus in Ireland today.

The HPSC released the following data on Saturday for the first 22,495 cases through Thursday at midnight;

57% are women and 43% are men

· The median age of confirmed cases is 49 years

2,954 cases (13%) have been hospitalized

· Of the hospitalized, 381 cases have been admitted to the ICU

· 6,669 cases are associated with health workers

· Dublin has the highest number of cases with 10,948 (49% of all cases) followed by Kildare with 1,317 cases (6%) and then Cork with 1,205 cases (5%)

· Of those for whom the transmission status is known: community transmission represents 61%, close contact accounts 35%, travel abroad represents 3%
