Former I’m A Celebrity winner Jacqueline Jossa explained why she was unable to present her crown to 2020 champion Giovanna Fletcher on last night’s show.
In a long-standing performance tradition, the champion from the previous year is honored to crown the new winner during the live finale.
However, 28-year-old Jac wasn’t there for the show last night, leaving the job of crowning the 2020 winner Giovanna to her campmate Vernon Kay.
Now he has taken to his Instagram to explain why he was unable to travel to Wales to deliver his crown.
Jac told fans that she was too busy rehearsing for her next West End show and had no time to travel to Wales.
She said, “People have been asking why I didn’t go to deliver the crown …
“A couple of reasons, one, we’re rehearsing for a West End musical and I literally don’t have time to go to Wales and back.
“Also, we are in a global pandemic, so it is not the best idea to do that anyway.”
“Everything is socially estranged and I think it worked very well how it worked with Vernon.
“Obviously, if it had been in different circumstances, I would have loved to give it to G.
“I really wanted it to be her from day one.”
Jac went on to explain how she was convinced that Giovanna would be the winner and is furious that she didn’t have the foresight to bet.
She added: “I feel like I should have gambled. I am absolutely furious that I didn’t.”
Giovanna was crowned this year’s winner after more than 12 million votes were cast.
Vernon Kay and Jordan North were runners-up.
