Soccer fan Lucy Beth Duffy from Dublin has won the award of her dreams for a Manchester City jersey signed by Sergio Agüero.

It just so happens that the talented Lucy Beth (9) designed the pink and blue kit herself.

The schoolgirl was one of more than 1,000 participants in the Puma and Manchester City kit design competition and her design won outright.

To commemorate his incredible achievement, Puma designed a limited edition version of his design, which forward Sergio Agüero signed and promised to post to him in a special video address.

Lucy Beth also won a framed and signed engraving of Agüero wearing her design, which the Argentine also wore in the special video congratulating her.

“I am very excited to win this competition and I still cannot believe that Sergio Agüero made a video just for me,” said the young man.

“I decided to go in because I love drawing and coloring, and since it was Man City, I thought it was perfect for me.”

Lucy Beth kept Man City’s signature blue and added a hint of pink to her vibrant design.

“I chose this design because they already have stripes and I thought I would prefer to have a pop of color so I did the stripes on the inside.

“I had to keep the blue because Man City is blue so I added the pink to give it a touch of color,” he continued.

Entering the competition was an obvious choice for Lucy Beth, as she and her family are staunch fans of Man City.

The family has an entire room dedicated to the Manchester club in their home in Beaumont, which is adorned with memorabilia.

The young woman revealed that the first time she saw the Blues at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium was in 2018. She returned to the stadium on New Year’s Day 2020 with her family to watch Manchester City win over Everton.

“Puma did a great job. I can’t believe my design has become a real jersey, it’s a thumbs up,” said Lucy Beth.
