HOMEBASE reopened all of its 164 UK stores from today – with extra social distancing measures in place.
The DIY chain had closed its doors in March in order to protect its staff and customers despite being classed as an “essential retailer” by the government amid the coronavirus pandemic.

It has continued to trade online since then, but began the process of reopening its shops last weekend.
Having initially reopened 20 stores as a trial, it opened an additional 50 shops on Wednesday this week.
And from today, May 1, all of its remaining stores will be reopened for customers.
You can find your nearest store on its website.
It won’t, however, be offering some services, such as kitchen design appointments, key cutting or some concessions, including Bathstore and Rug Doctor carpet cleaners, which you can normally hire for 48 hours.
But it said as soon as these are available it would let customers know.
You also won’t be able to use the reserve and collect service, which enables customers to reserve items online and pick them up in store.

When shoppers visit Homebase stores they will find new perspex screens at tills, guidelines on the floor to maintain strict social distancing and checkouts accepting card payments only.
All stores will be open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, except stores in Scotland, which will be open 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
Homebase says it has contacted some customers who had placed online orders to give them the option to come and collect their products from their local store if they hadn’t already been dispatched to their homes.
You can still shop online and have items delivered – although Homebase says its delivery times are slightly longer than normal.
Delivery varies depending on what you are buying, and only standard delivery is available at the moment.
All delivery prices are listed with product descriptions, and most items cost a flat fee of around £ 6.
