Health Minister Stephen Donnelly sends a message to Dr. Ronan Glynn on his last day

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly thanked Dr. Ronan Glynn for his work before Dr. Tony Holohan’s return tomorrow.

The interim medical director will resume his deputy position on Monday when Dr. Holohan returns.

Dr Glynn has been in charge of one of the most difficult periods of the pandemic here in Ireland and has been praised by Minister Fianna Fail.

Minister Donnelly tweeted: “I would like to express my sincere thanks to Ronan Glynn for all his work as interim CMO since the beginning of July.

“He took on one of the toughest roles in Ireland and did a fantastic job. I look forward to continued work with Dr. Glynn and again now with Tony Holohan upon his return.

“There have been many mornings and nights at the office when difficult decisions were made and Ronan is a pleasure to work with at all times.

“It will be of great benefit to all of us to have the expertise of Dr. Holohan and Dr. Glynn as we face the challenging winter months.

“I look forward to working with both of them. As always, our goal is to save lives, keep people healthy, and protect our health service.”

Dr. Holohan will return to office on Monday and will again brief the public at meetings and communicate with government officials.
