Eden Hazard would be Pep Guardiola’s dream signing for Manchester City, according to Spain.
The Belgian international had a fantastic seven years with Chelsea. During that time, he was consistently one of the best players in the Premier League.
He made more than 350 appearances for the Blues between 2012 and 2019. In that time he scored 110 goals in all competitions.
Chelsea v Man City: one big game, five big questions
In June 2019 it was announced that Hazard had signed for Real Madrid. This move had been rumored for some time and Madrid finally got their man for around £ 130 million with add-ons.
However, Hazard’s time at Madrid has not gone as planned so far. His first season was plagued with injuries, as he only managed to make 16 La Liga appearances. The forward also only scored one goal in 2019/20 in all competitions.
The 29-year-old has played seven games in all competitions this season and has scored two goals. Spanish outlet OKDaily have reported that Hazard is Guardiola’s main transfer target for Manchester City.
The report adds that at this point, Real Madrid does not want to let Hazard out. But the city chief “will be the first to be interested in Hazard” if he is available.
Guardiola has long been a Hazard fan. In an interview last year, cited by The express, the Asturian affirmed that the forward is of “world class”:
“He is not a first level player, another higher level. What we saw in England … is world class. The whole world knows that you need a period of adaptation. “
