The alleged murderer of English teenage biker Harry Dunn is “internationally wanted” after an Interpol Red Notice was issued for his arrest.
Anne Sacoolas, 42, was accused of causing death by dangerous driving in December, but an extradition request from the UK Home Office was rejected by United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in January.
In an email to the parents of the 19-year-old Northamptonshire police seen by the AP news agency, the force said “the wanted circulations should be enacted” if Sacoolas leaves the United States.
1 / I can confirm that @NorthantsPolice You informed me this afternoon that an Interpol Red Notice has been distributed worldwide regarding #annesacoolas. This means that she had no diplomatic immunity at the time of #harrydunndeath and I would be arrested if I tried

According to the Interpol website, a Red Notice is a request to law enforcement agencies worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person awaiting extradition, surrender or similar legal action.
The Red Notice is not an international arrest warrant, but is issued for fugitives wanted for prosecution or sentencing.
The process is normally used to allow member countries to monitor the suspect, which generally helps with extradition procedures.
Harry was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a car in front of a US military base in Northamptonshire in August last year.
Sacoolas, the wife of a RAF Croughton-based US intelligence official, claimed diplomatic immunity after the accident and was able to return to her home country, sparking international controversy.
On April 30, a spokeswoman for the United States State Department reiterated its position that at the time of the accident, and while in the United Kingdom, the driver had immunity from criminal jurisdiction.
The teen’s mother said the news had been relayed to the parents through her spokesperson, Radd Seiger.
Reacting to the news, Charlotte Charles told the PA news agency: “It has been a terrible time for us. We are completely heartbroken and heartbroken and we miss our Harry every minute of every day.
“This is important news that Radd just passed on to us and we are in pieces.
“I just want to urge Mrs Sacoolas to go back to the UK and do the right thing. Face justice and perhaps our two families can come together after the tragedy and build a bridge. “
Commenting on development, Mr. Seiger said: “Northamptonshire Police have confirmed to me that an Interpol Red Notice has now been circulated around the world regarding Anne Sacoolas.
“It makes her a fugitive on the run and means she would be arrested and returned to the UK the moment she tries to leave the United States.
“The red notices would not be delivered to valid diplomats. I urge the authorities in London and Washington and Ms Sacoolas’ legal team to meet now to return her to the UK to face the English justice system, where she will receive a fair trial.
“I am sure that both families have suffered for too long and it is time for her to do the right thing and come back.”
