Golfers will have the opportunity to return to the streets starting May 18, it was revealed.
As part of phase one of the lift blocking measures, members of golf courses can play once it is within their five kilometer radius.
Individual players will be allowed at 10 minute intervals, while two balls will come out at 12 minute intervals and three balls at 14 minute intervals.
The departure times must be reserved in advance and it will only be informal golf and not competitions.
Clubhouses will remain closed except for bathroom facilities and equipment.
GUI GUIDES
However, starting June 8, the contests will return and guests will be able to play in the club’s restaurants that open in late July.
The Irish Golf Union has also issued guidelines for the return of golf and says that any member with a cold or any symptoms of Covid-19 should stay away from golf clubs.
Physical distance rules must be observed at all times in the field and in the parking lot with personnel available to observe that physical distance measures are respected.
There will also be a maximum of 60 golfers on a course at any one time, which means that the courses will operate at 55% of capacity.
Members will be instructed not to touch the flagpole when playing with hired trolls that must be disinfected and caddies are not allowed.
The GUI also advises players to have a sufficient number of golf balls, shirts, and markers to avoid exchanging equipment with others.
They also advise players to travel alone to the field and park in such a way that they respect social distancing and suggest members to test themselves rather than focus on practice greens.
On the field, players who require a buggy should use theirs and not share them with passengers, and advise players not to enter an exit area until players in the front are gone.
