A Leitrim community is in shock after young Brendan Meehan suddenly died over the weekend.
Brendan, 36, was engaged to marry his fiancé Shauna with the couple who are said to have “their whole life planned in front of them.”
Mr. Meehan was “adored” by the Kiltubrid community with beautiful and heartfelt tributes to the popular man.
A friend of Brendan’s paid tribute to him through the local GAA Kiltubrid club, saying he wished it were “just a bad dream.”
The publication said: “It is with immense sadness that I write this publication. I have been putting it off all day because I cannot understand the situation.

Brendan was a member of the committee for the local planning team for the An Tostal Festival who also paid tribute to the man who always had a smile on his face.
A spokesperson said: “There is a saying that ‘only the good die young’ and this has never felt truer than when we learned of the sudden death of Brendan Meehan Moherevogue, Drumcong.
“Brendan was part of the An Tóstal Festival Committee for many years, where he worked hard and was always very willing to give up his time for the good of the city.
“During this time, he made many good friends there. Coming from a family that has always been very involved in Community events and is a big part of community life in Kiltubrid and Drumshanbo, Brendans big smile and good nature were evident.
“With youth and energy on his side, Brendan was involved in many things throughout his life and has left a huge gap in the Kiltubrid parish.”
“Brendan had met the love of his life and he and his girlfriend Shauna Bohan had their entire lives planned in front of them and were making plans for their wedding. Our hearts go out to Shauna at this unimaginably painful moment.”
“We will do our best as a community to support all of you during this sad time and also in the future. Rest in peace Brendan.”
