“We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Benny was engaged to Shauna, son of Brian and Ann, brother of Deirdre, Kevin and Mairead, nephew of many aunts and uncles, cousin of many and a dear and loyal friend of many from his days at Drumcong National School, Drumshanbo Vocational School, St Mel’s University and Sligo, to this day, where he worked with Airconmech as a sheet metal fabricator (he wouldn’t be afraid to tell the other merchants how anybody was made. !)

“I had the pleasure of going to National School, St Mel’s and college with Benny.

“I’ve never seen him so happy and content with Shauna in recent years. Usually it’s the bride who gets excited about the wedding, but Benny couldn’t keep quiet about it!”

“He was exactly where he should be in life and he found the person who was meant for him. He couldn’t wait for the future they would embark on.”

“If I started to tell stories about Benny, I won’t stop writing or crying. The tricolor flies at half-staff on the Kiltubrid soccer field. Benny was born on 9/3/1983. We would ask him to light a candle on both nights. following at 9:03 pm and place it on your window in memory of our friend.

“Goodbye friend, I love you and we will see each other again.”

Brendan was a member of the committee for the local planning team for the An Tostal Festival who also paid tribute to the man who always had a smile on his face.

A spokesperson said: “There is a saying that ‘only the good die young’ and this has never felt truer than when we learned of the sudden death of Brendan Meehan Moherevogue, Drumcong.

“Brendan was part of the An Tóstal Festival Committee for many years, where he worked hard and was always very willing to give up his time for the good of the city.

“During this time, he made many good friends there. Coming from a family that has always been very involved in Community events and is a big part of community life in Kiltubrid and Drumshanbo, Brendans big smile and good nature were evident.

“With youth and energy on his side, Brendan was involved in many things throughout his life and has left a huge gap in the Kiltubrid parish.”

“Brendan had met the love of his life and he and his girlfriend Shauna Bohan had their entire lives planned in front of them and were making plans for their wedding. Our hearts go out to Shauna at this unimaginably painful moment.”

“We will do our best as a community to support all of you during this sad time and also in the future. Rest in peace Brendan.”

A private funeral will be held according to government guidelines – you can send your condolences to The family here.
