Danny Grant’s move to the Huddersfield Town English Championship team has been completed.

The winger, who left the Bohemians after three years at Dalymount Park, will now join Carlos Corberan’s team on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

The 20-year-old will be available to join Huddersfield, which is ranked 12th in second level English, starting January 2, subject to international clearance.

Bohemians manager Keith Long supported Grant to continue his progress, adding that it was a “good deal” for the Dublin club.

“This is a great opportunity for Danny and, more importantly, it is a good deal for the club.

“Danny has improved year after year since he came to the club, initially with our Under-19s and then with our first team.

“He has reached another level this year, becoming an Irish Under-21 international and winning the PFAI Young Player of the Year award.

“He has earned this opportunity. It will be a step forward for him, but he has proven capable in every step he has taken so far.”

“Huddersfield gave him a three and a half year deal, which is a real commitment for him.

“That is a testament to his own ability and how he has seized the opportunity that is provided to him at Bohemians.

“We are obviously very disappointed to lose a player of his ability. I have a problem trying to replace a player of that quality, and hopefully we will hear about that when the time is right.

“But the entire back room team and players are very happy for him. Everyone at the club wishes him the best of luck with Huddersfield and in his future career.”
