Gemma O’Doherty has been arrested after refusing to give her name and address to a Garda.

The former journalist was doing a live broadcast at the time, filming two members of An Garda Síochána removing a banner from a catwalk in Kilmacanogue, Wicklow.

“Look at this! Look at this! This is criminal damage,” he can be heard saying in the video, which has now gone viral online.

Dublin Live reports that officers were on the scene after various locals filed complaints.

He then points the camera at a garda and says “How dare you? Look at this. This is a gangster” before asking for his identification number.

She tells the gardaí that they are “cowards and traitors to the Irish people” and what they are doing is “criminal damage”.

The garda then asks her for her details, at which point Gemma says, “You won’t get my name and address” before she turns to leave.

The guard can be heard yelling “Give me your name and address now”.

The camera then turns to the ground and Gemma claims that the garda is “assaulting” her.
