Gardai seized more than € 15,000 worth of cocaine and heroin in a search on a North Dublin street after a dramatic raid on property failed to find anything.
Several Garda staff members approached a home in Finglas shortly after 3 p.m. Friday.
The agents try to gain access to the house by bringing a chainsaw to the front window.
As neighbors protested the brazen entrance of the house, whose occupants were assumed not to be present during the search, Gardai also ripped the hinges off the front door to begin the search.
However, the search ultimately turned up nothing, as a Garda spokesperson confirmed to Dublin Live that nothing was recovered.
But that same afternoon, Gardai in the Finglas Drug Unit, along with the help of the Garda Dog Unit, discovered € 16,000 worth of heroin and cocaine in an alley next to Barry Close.
No arrests were made and a Garda spokesman said investigations were ongoing.
“This is another example of how the Gardaí in Finglas, through Operation Tara and the newly formed Drug Unit, is willing to allocate resources to disrupt the sale of illegal drugs and protect our communities and our youth from the dire consequences. of drug use. “said Chief Superintendent Finbarr Murphy.
“We are committed to increasing the focus on drug traffickers and disrupting their activities and their toxic influence on society in order to make our communities safe for all of us to live, work and enjoy our daily lives.”
