GARDAÍ SAID THEY MADE two more arrests and carried out a series of searches as part of a money laundering investigation into the seizure of 50,000 euros in cash.

The latest arrests were made yesterday during operations in Louth and North County Dublin.

Two men, aged between 20 and 30, were arrested during the operation and taken to the Portlaoise Garda station, where they were detained under article 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Since then, both have been released without charge and files will now be prepared for the Director of the Public Ministry.

The investigation relates to an incident in April this year in which two women were arrested after Gardaí discovered 50,000 euros in cash in their vehicle. Two women were arrested at the scene. Files have also been sent to the DPP on this matter.
