Gardaí in Galway is renewing its request for information following a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on R336 in Na Forbacha / Furbo, Co Galway on Wednesday 16 December.
A woman in her 50s died after a traffic collision, which occurred in the vicinity of the Pairicin bar in Furbo.
Gardaí investigators have established that the deceased was dumped at this general location at approximately 6.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Gardaí now believes that a 2004 to 2007 Toyota Corolla was involved in this collision.
Inspector Brian Ryan from the Salthill Garda station said: “A Garda Síochána is asking the driver of this vehicle to come over and contact the gardaí in Salthill. Likewise, we would like to appeal to members of the public who may have information, or may have knowledge of a vehicle that matches this description and has been damaged in the last 24 hours, to come forward. “
It is understood that the deceased was walking on the right side of the road in the direction of Spiddal, and that she was hit by a vehicle traveling from Spiddal in the direction of Barna.
