Gardai investigates the ‘unexplained’ death of a 20-year-old man in Co Cork

Gardai is investigating the unexplained death of a man in his 20s in Co Cork.

The body was discovered after emergency services were called to the scene in Wilton shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday.

A spokesperson said: “Gardaí is investigating the unexplained death of a man in Cork City in the early morning of Saturday 29 August 2020.

“Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 1:10 am following reports of an unconscious man outside a residence in Eagle Valley, Wilton, Cork City.

“The man, in his 20s, was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

“An autopsy will be performed at a later date and this will determine the course of the investigation.

“The scene in Eagle Valley has been preserved for technical examination.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
