Gardaí investigates the death of an electric scooter user in ‘unexplained circumstances’ after the discovery of the body

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the death of a scooter user under “unexplained circumstances” after a body was found in Co Meath in the early hours of the morning.

The body was found on the N51 in Harmanstown, Slane.

Gardaí attended the scene around 2.50 a.m. following reports of an unconscious man lying on the road.

The man, whose age has not been confirmed, was riding an electric scooter in the direction of Slane.

He was treated by ambulance services, but was later pronounced dead.

Currently, the road is closed pending a technical review by forensic collision investigators. There are local deviations.

An Garda Síochána is treating the incident as a possible traffic collision.

Gardaí in Navan is asking for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

They are also attractive to road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam footage) traveling on the N51 in Harmanstown between about 1.30am and 3am to be available to Gardaí.
