The body of a man in his 40s has been discovered in a house in Cork.
Gardai is investigating all the possibilities surrounding the discovery, which was made at 4 p.m. at a home in Bishopstown on Friday.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí was called to a residence on Curraheen Drive in Bishopstown shortly after 4 pm, where family members discovered the body of a man in his 40s. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.
“The man’s body will be transferred to the morgue at Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is expected to take place.
“The scene is currently being kept for examination by local crime scene officers and both the state pathologist’s office and the local coroner have been notified.
“The results of an autopsy will determine the course of the Garda investigation.
“No further information is available at this time.”
