“Around 8pm on Friday. . . gardaí conducted a warrant search of the suspected Shebeen facility and located a fully operational bar in a repurposed state. ”

Five barrels of beer, a significant quantity of bottled liquors and beers, and bar equipment such as taps, gas and ice boxes were seized from the property, which also had an area for smokers and a warehouse and a bathroom for visitors.

“A full investigation into this matter is now underway and files will be prepared for the Director of the Public Ministry,” the spokesman said.

“A Garda Síochána would appeal to anyone with information about the illegal shebeens operation to contact their local Garda station.”
