Gardai has recovered human remains during ongoing searches for a missing man in Co Meath.

Investigations are ongoing following the discovery of remains in Dunboyne on Tuesday.

The body is believed to have been discovered during ongoing searches for Terry Byrne, who has been missing since last February.

Extensive searches have been conducted in the area since the father-of-two disappeared from his home on February 6, and his photo recently appeared on Deliveroo Rider delivery bags as part of a national Bring Them Home campaign.

“The remains have been transferred to the State Pathologists Office in Whitehall, Dublin for further examination.

“The scene was preserved for technical examination.
