Gardai detains the driver with an open can of Guinness in the car and no tax, insurance or license

Gardai in Dublin caught a motorist on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, who also had no taxes, insurance or driver’s license.

A Garda Siochana shared a photo of the vehicle showing an open Guinness can in one of the door bins.

The driver, who was arrested in Blanchardstown on Monday morning, was arrested and his car was impounded.

A tweet in the official Garda Traffic account said: “DMR RPU stopped this car this morning in Blanchardstown. The driver had no license / tax or insurance.

“Driver arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Seized car and procedures to follow. Never drink and drive.”

Meanwhile, another motorist with a learner’s permit was caught breaking the speed limit in Kerry while driving unaccompanied and it emerged that they were also disqualified from driving.

Gardai said: “Kerry RPU detected a car driver driving with a learner’s permit (unaccompanied) at 133 km / h in the 100 km / h zone at Abbeyfeale.

“The mobility app showed that the driver is disqualified. The seized car and the procedures to follow.”
