The Gardaí investigating a collision between a car and a Dublin bus continues to appeal to witnesses.

The collision, which occurred on Friday night in Dublin’s Northumberland Road area, resulted in eight people being taken to hospital, including two who were occupants of the car.

Gardaí said yesterday that of those eight, it is understood that two male passengers taking the bus are in serious condition.

Dublin Bus said the driver and four passengers attend St. Vincent Hospital.

On Sunday, Gardaí said the crash site was cleared yesterday afternoon.

Investigators continue to ask for information and those who have video images of the area to make them available.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Irishtown Garda Station on 01 6669600, the Confidential Garda Line at 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Gardaí said yesterday that “as one of the vehicles involved had come to the attention of the Gardaí before the incident, the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) has been notified.”

Dublin Bus confirmed in a statement to the Irish Examiner that it has also started an internal investigation into the incident.
