Gardai confiscates € 1.1m of drugs, € 550,000 in cash and six luxury watches in raids

Three people were arrested for € 1.1 million worth of drugs, € 550,000 in cash, and six luxury watches were seized by gardai in four counties.

Two men and a woman were detained after Gardai stopped vehicles in the Donore Road and North Road areas of Drogheda, Co Louth, on Monday.

They are currently detained in Dublin on suspicion of helping an organized crime gang to commit a serious crime.

Officers conducted follow-up searches in Dublin, Meath, Louth and Wexford in connection with the investigation.

During the raids, Gardai found € 550,000 in cash along with cocaine and prescription drugs with an estimated street value of € 1.1 million.

Three vehicles, six high-value watches, two encrypted communications devices and two signal blocking devices were also seized.


Investigations continue in connection with the operation.

Chief Superintendent of Detectives Angela Willis, Head of the Garda Office of the National Office of Drugs and Organized Crime, said: “The Garda National Office of Drugs and Organized Crime continues to pursue those involved in serious and organized crime, while movement restrictions associated with Coronavirus (COVID-19) are in place, leading to yet another successful outcome of an operation, involving the seizure of significant amounts of controlled drugs and cash and other property considered product of the crime and the arrest of three suspects. “
