Finland v Ireland player scores: Costly mistake turns out to be a night to forget for Randolph

[ad_1]

Darren Randolph: 5

The list of mistakes in his Irish career is short, but he will regret the goal kick that gave Finland the breakthrough, as much as the intention was good.

Matt Doherty: 6

Strong advancing at all times, but he is not exempt from the guilt of the goal either, as he was not necessarily alert to the situation, which can sometimes be his problem.

Shane Duffy: 7

It’s hard to blame the Celtic player who was a different animal in the October window than the September equivalent and generally defended his box staunchly.

Dara O’Shea: 7

Assertive opening from the West Brom player and this was a good debut even though he was caught in a tight spot by the Finnish goal. It is technically safe.

Enda Stevens: 7

He was subjected to some defensive pressure on his flank, but he always recovered quite well and had a bad luck that the carpentry denied him a goal

Jayson Molumby: 6

He probably didn’t shine like he did against Wales with some signs of inexperience, but this meeting is still a big step forward. The energy of the midfielder adapts to this team.

Conor Hourihane: 6

Selected for every minute of the triple header and may not be as sharp in application compared to Sunday, but it will still be important with left-foot balance.

Daryl Horgan: 7

Really good in the first half with his attacking intentions and touches that pose some issues, although he struggled to match those levels when he switched to the left.

Jeff Hendrick: 6

He worked really hard without the ball to try to help the Irish press and that’s an important part of the game plan, but he had less joy when he actually got on it.

Aaron Connolly: 7

It prefers to operate higher in the park and was in better positions when it relocated there. Galwegian can get infuriated with the decision-making and he admitted it.

Seán Maguire: 6

A slight surprise got the nod, but he did reasonably well in terms of complementing those around him, but was euthanized early in the second half.

Stephen Kenny: 6

They will be frustrated by the results, but this team is developing an identity that can pay off. It would be more concerning if opportunities weren’t being created.

Substitutes

Robbie Brady 6 (for Maguire 52 minutes) – Some good crosses to the area; Ronan Curtis 6 (for Horgan 75 minutes): inches from the glorious arrival; Adam Idah 5 (for Hendrick 75 minutes) – I found it difficult to make a good impression; Jason Knight 6 (for Molumby 83 minutes) – Great moment, but it was only a brief cameo.
