Fierce 110 km / h winds will hit 16 counties tonight when five warnings go into effect.
Met Eireann has issued four different weather alerts in the Republic for high winds, three of which are in place as of 9 p.m. and will continue until 2 a.m. Thursday.
The first yellow status warning is for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick, and the national forecaster indicates that the “combination of strong winds coupled with high tides” carries a high risk of coastal flooding.

This warning is valid from 3 pm and will expire at 1 am
“Winds from southwest to west turning toward the northwest will reach an average speed of 50 to 65 km / h with gusts of 90 to 110 km / h,” the statement read.
The same warning was also sent to Leitrim and Sligo, although it did not go into effect until 9pm.
More alerts were then issued for Donegal, Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow and Meath.
All these precautions also say that the winds will be strong, reaching average speeds of 50 to 65 km / h.

But massive gusts of between 90 km / h and 110 km / h will hit all the aforementioned counties overnight.
Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, Antrim and Down are under similar alerts, which are expected to end at 3am.
Elsewhere, tonight will bring frequent rains, with lower temperatures of between 3 ° C and 5 ° C, as well as continued winds and the constant threat of coastal flooding looming over various parts of the country.
The winds will abate as the night progresses.
Tomorrow, however, it will dawn dry and bright, with spells of misty sun, according to Met Eireann.
