Mason Greenwood enraged Bruno Fernandes after an incident during a poor Manchester United training session last week.
It was reported on Monday that United were increasingly frustrated with Greenwood, that they “did not understand” the “process” that the club had put in place.
Concerns were raised about the 19-year-old’s poor training and sleep habits, which were reinforced Tuesday.
The times they claim Greenwood “performed poorly” during a session last week in a “slow” session.
He was subsequently excluded from the team that traveled to beat Everton, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer citing illness as the reason.
But Greenwood is said to have ‘exasperated’ Fernandes in particular ‘over his failure to run for a pass’ – less than a month later annoying coaching staff.
United has denied any “discussion” between the pair.

They reiterate concerns regarding their alleged lack of sleep and “timing.”
“It is said that United feel that Greenwood needs to focus on his development as a footballer,” he adds.
Solskjaer dismissed some speculation regarding Greenwood in October, stating: “He’s never late for training. I’ve seen some former United players talk about him and they don’t know what they’re talking about.
“He has a good family behind him and he is a good coach. I can’t believe all these stories about him not being a professional.
“That’s something we have to deal with with a lot of players, a lot of other United players have had it.
“I’m not at all concerned about Mason becoming a target.”
