The latest figures released by the National Public Health Emergencies Team (NPHET) show 265 new cases of Covid-19, along with six more tragic deaths across the country.
The total number of reported cases in Ireland is now 73,491, while the number of deaths has reached 2,086.
The increase in cases today comes after infections rose in Dublin, Louth, Limerick, Wicklow, Galway and several other counties.
Few counties fared better today than yesterday, although Meath and Roscommon reported zero cases.
Ireland’s 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 now stands at X, a further drop from Y yesterday.
And our seven-day incidence rate now stands at 78.3, up from 79.7 yesterday.
As of 2pm today, there were 232 patients battling Covid-19 in Irish hospitals, of which 27 were in the ICU.
There have been 14 additional hospitalizations in the last 24 hours.
Of the cases reported Thursday, 131 were women and 133 men.
Of these, 66% were under 45 years of age, with a median age of 33 years.
