A weather advisory still remains in effect for all of Ireland today, as Met Eireann issued a weather advisory for heavy snowfall in one part of the country.
Thursday will be very cold with heavy frosts and icy sections that will cover Ireland, with some winter rains as well.
Most of that winter weather will fall on higher ground and the rains will subside in the late morning with temperatures of 3 ° C.
Tonight it will be very cold with widespread intense and severe frosts with frozen stretches again as the degrees Celsius plummeted to zero.
Elsewhere, there is a yellow, snow and ice status warning for Donegal throughout Thursday.
According to Eireann’s forecast: “Heavy winter rains of hail, sleet and snow are expected on Thursday with reduced visibility and are likely to accumulate in some places.”
Here’s what that forecast means for Dublin in the coming days:
morning : “A widespread frost will begin on Friday with some frozen patches on untreated surfaces. Many areas will remain dry during the day with periods of winter sunshine. However, the northwesterly winds will be strong, with an added wind chill factor. Some showers Coastal areas can develop later in the evening, with isolated hail and thunderstorms. Higher temperatures of only 4 to 7 degrees Celsius. Friday night will bring scattered showers and local hailstorms. Also some sleet, though mostly on warmer terrain. High. Saturday : “It will bring more scattered showers. There will also be good sunshine during the day, especially away from eastern and western counties. It will start out breezy, with moderate to cool northwesterly winds, but winds will moderate during the day. Higher temperatures will range from a cool 5 to 8 degrees Celsius with an added chill factor. Some persistent showers in the eastern coastal areas, but most areas will be completely dry with clear skies. Very cold with lows of – 3 to +3 degrees, with a generalized sharp frost. Fog and fog locally too, with light breezes from the northwest. ”
Sunday : “It should be a mostly dry day with a light breeze from the north and lots of bright sunshine in winter. However, some showers are possible, with the eastern fringes most threatened. Another cold day with temperatures higher than 3 to 7 degrees Celsius Continuous cold Sunday night with frost and ice as temperatures drop to near zero across the country. ”
