A major search operation was launched after a person was reportedly seen entering the water in an Irish river.
The Irish Coast Guard was also called in to assist with the operation at Lough Foyle between Co Derry and Co Donegal.
Emergency services were conducting a search after a person was seen entering the water, local station Highland Radio reports.
Foyle Search and Rescue said he was called to the scene of the “incident” around 1.44 am Wednesday.
They wrote on Facebook: “At 1:44 am on Wednesday 11 November, the Northern Ireland Police Service commissioned an incident from Foyle Search and Rescue.
“Our emergency response teams were assisted by the Northern Ireland Fire Service, the Irish Coast Guard, the Coleraine Coast Guard and shortly thereafter the Irish Coast Guard Helicopter.
“Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service remained on hold during the incident.
“Our teams withdrew at 06:00 and the incident is now classified as a search and recovery operation.”
