Met Eireann have said that snow is likely to fall in Ireland next week when a cold snap hits.

Temperatures will drop as low as -3 ° C in some places tonight and there are no signs that cold weather is coming anytime soon.

And Met Eireann predicts that snowfall is possible on Sunday nights, Monday, Thursday and Friday, with sub-zero temperatures moving through the night.

Sunday night’s forecast reads: “Temperatures are expected to drop between -3 and +1 degrees tonight, cooler in the west with frost and icing. A light breeze from the northeast will keep temperatures just above the freezing point on the east coast. ”

And as we move into the next week, more snow is likely to fall on Monday, with extremely cold conditions every day of the week.

Thursday and Friday will bring more winter rains, as well as sleet or snow, with temperatures reaching zero at times.

One forecaster added: “Tomorrow Monday, dry and sunny in much of the west and north, and frost and ice will slowly clear in the morning.
