Eight deaths and 896 new confirmed Covid-19 cases in Northern Ireland

896 NEW COVID-19 CASES have been confirmed in Northern Ireland this afternoon in the latest update from the Department of Health.

Today’s confirmed cases bring the total of ongoing cases in the North to 34,105.

Additionally, the department confirmed another eight deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 653.

The largest increase in the number of cases today has been seen in Belfast, where 223 new cases have been confirmed.

106 new cases have been confirmed in the Mid Ulster district, with 100 new cases reported in Derry City and Strabane.

There are currently 92 active outbreaks of Covid-19 in nursing homes in Northern Ireland and 317 patients in hospitals with a confirmed case of Covid-19.

37 people with a confirmed case are in the ICU.

Health Minister Robin Swann has said that the rate of increase in Covid-19 cases has slowed compared to last week, but that there has been a progressive increase in the number of Covid-19 hospital patients.

“We are now very close to the highs experienced during the first wave, and indeed some [health and social care] The trusts have far exceeded the level experienced by them in April, ”Swann said.

Yesterday, there were six new deaths and 923 new confirmed Covid-19 cases in Northern Ireland.

Pubs, restaurants and cafes in Northern Ireland will be closed until November 13, with the exception of takeout and delivery services, in an attempt to limit the spread of the virus.

The closure of personal services and companies such as hairdressers, beauty salons and tattoo parlors was also required.

Schools closed for two weeks on October 19 and are due to reopen on November 2.
