Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford will reportedly be removed from their weekly This Morning slot.

After 14 years of hosting the show on Friday mornings, the couple will be replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

According to the UK Mirror, Eamonn and Ruth will re-host the main show for six weeks over the summer, when hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby take a break.

Alison and Dermot are understood to have impressed ITV bosses when they previously stepped in as backup presenters.

A source told the newspaper: “They are very warm. It’s time for a change and they are perfect. “

“Eamonn is quite furious and everyone is sorry for him and Ruth, they are very loved in the team, but sometimes you have to make difficult decisions.”

The changes are expected to start in the New Year and Dermot and Alison will reportedly be finalizing their new contracts in the coming weeks.

Goss.ie has contacted ITV for comment. Representatives for Eamonn and Ruth have also been contacted.
