Dublin Weather: Strange ‘La Niña’ Phenomenon Hits Ireland This Week As Met Eireann Forecasts Major Change After Warning

[ad_1]

Met Eireann has predicted a big change in the weather in the capital this week as the strange phenomenon of ‘La Niña’ is about to affect our country.

It occurs once every two years, disrupting normal weather patterns and wreaking havoc on conditions around the world.

The event may affect Ireland as the North Atlantic jet stream intensifies bringing with it “cold and unstable conditions”.

The National Forecaster shared a map on Twitter of the strange climate change that shows an intense explosion of the jet stream hitting Dublin.

Met Eireann said: “A La Niña event has been declared, how does this affect us? La Niña does not always affect our climate, but it can intensify the jet from the North Atlantic. A strong jet over Ireland can bring cold and unstable conditions.”

And there are many indications that these conditions will occur over the next week.

The capital is also behind a state yellow rain warning that brought persistent and heavy rain of 25-40mm overnight and many places were affected by flooding.

Here’s what the next few days before La Niña looks like in Ireland:

Monday: “It will be a cloudy and humid start to the day with outbreaks of torrential rain in the morning. The rain will die off in the morning and become brighter with the possibility of isolated rain during the afternoon. Higher temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees Celsius with moderate and sometimes gusty westerlies. “

monday night: Showers or longer periods of rain will affect much of the country. Lower temperatures 7-11.

Tuesday: “It will be windy with widespread rains, some of which will be heavy. There will be some dry and sunny periods. Highest temperatures 12 to 14 degrees with moderate to cool winds from west to northwest. The rains will continue Tuesday night, mostly confined to northern and western areas. Drier elsewhere with clear periods. Lower temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees, with a moderate breeze from the west. “

Wednesday: “It will be another rainy day with spells of sunshine. The showers will ease into the afternoon and evening. Cool with highs of 10-13 degrees with mild to moderate west breezes.”

They added: “Current indications are that the rains will continue Wednesday night and Thursday. However, there is a possibility that wet and windy conditions will spread from the southwest into Wednesday night and persist through Thursday.
