Met Eireann has issued a nationwide yellow warning as “icy fog” will cover parts of Ireland.

The warning is in effect from midnight tomorrow until 10 am on Monday.

The national forecaster has warned of “dense fog with a risk of freezing in some places.”

The country will be hit by five consecutive days of subzero conditions as the winter cold snap continues.

Mercury is expected to decline as temperatures will range from -3 ° C to -2 ° C most nights of the week.

But there is an end in sight, as the national forecaster said “temperatures will rise to more normal levels for the time of year” by the end of next week.

Today will start cloudy with showers or longer periods of rain that will continue until the afternoon.
