Met Eireann has shared his six-day long-term weather forecast, as well as what to expect for the weekend, as the famous Donegal postman reveals what awaits them for Christmas.
Saturday will be dry with a mixture of clouds and sun, today it will become more cloudy at night.
Tonight it will be cloudy and hazy with heavy rain for a while, but it should clear in the morning.
Tomorrow it will be mostly dry and cloudy with the fog slowly clearing leaving Sunday with a mild afternoon with temperatures of 13-14C with overnight rain at 12C.
While the famous Donegal postman Michael Gallagher has used his unconventional forecasting methods to make his big Christmas prediction.
On whether the snow will fall on Christmas Day, he told RSVP Live: “That’s just one day, it’s hard to be so exact.
“But I know it’s going to snow, and it will be around Christmas Day. It’ll be there or that way.”
He added that there will be wind from the east, which is never a good sign.
“Any wind that comes from the east is an unhealthy wind and brings a lot of flu and colds,” he continued.
“It’s a time when people need to stay warm.”
Here’s what next week looks like according to Met Eireann:
Monday: “Generalized heavy rains and sunny intervals across the country on Monday, with more persistent rains affecting the southeast. Higher temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees with mild to moderate southeast winds.”
Tuesday: “Mostly dry and sunny Tuesday morning, but clouds will pick up in the west in the afternoon, spread across the country at dusk, and cause outbreaks of rain in the west and southwest. Higher temperatures 11-13 degrees. Mild to moderate southerly winds will turn cool to strong in western areas later. “
Wednesday: “Heavy rains in the west are expected to move east across the country on Wednesday, clearing dry and sunny conditions in the southwest. Cool, gusty winds from the south will drift westward and gradually decrease. Higher temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees “.
