Dublin shooting: a young man arrested as people flee the house after the shooter sprays bullets through the windows in Clondalkin

A young man was arrested after people were forced to flee a house in West Dublin in a terrible night shooting.

Gardai rushed to the scene around 9:20 p.m. when multiple shots were fired at a home on Greensfort Crescent in Clondalkin.

The shooter fired bullets through the window and caused damage to the exterior of the house, forcing those inside to escape the crossfire on foot.

None of the occupants of the house were injured in the shooting and a man in his 20s was detained near the scene shortly after by the Armed Support Unit.

He is currently being held at Ronanstown Garda Station and Gardai is asking witnesses to come forward with the scene that is currently being preserved for a forensic and technical examination.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí is asking witnesses to contact the incident room at Ronanstown Garda station 01-6667700 or the confidential Garda line 1800 666 111.”

He added: “Investigations are ongoing and no further information is available at this time.”
