Following a search in West Dublin, a large quantity of cocaine and other drugs were seized with a total value of € 40,000.

The illegal drugs were discovered yesterday as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Blanchardstown area.

During the course of a Garda intelligence operation, around € 5,000 worth of cocaine and diamorphine were found in containers of various sizes.

Two men, a 24-year-old and a minor, were arrested at the scene and taken to the Finglas Garda Police Station, where they are currently detained under section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A new search was carried out in the area and an additional 35,000 euros of cocaine were seized, subject to analysis.

A Garda spokeswoman said investigations into the find are ongoing.
