The medical director has asked all employers to ensure that staff work from home whenever possible.
Dr. Tony Holohan said he would “encourage” all managers to make sure they have “effective measures” for when home work is not an option.
He spoke as the National Public Health Emergency Team confirmed another 1,247 Covid-19 cases, along with 15 more deaths.
Dr Holohan said: “Employers have a responsibility to ensure that staff are encouraged to work from home in the first instance and, where that is not possible, that their workplaces are safe for staff. and clients and fully comply with infection prevention and control measures.

“The HPSC has a comprehensive guide on outbreak management and infection prevention control measures that every employer should be familiar with and activate at their facility.
“I encourage all employers and managers to check their workplaces and make sure they have effective measures in place.”
The latest batch of figures brings the death toll in Ireland to 3,307, while the total number of confirmed cases here has risen to 196,547.
Of those diagnosed, 659 were women and 579 men, while the average age was 39 years.
Dublin again had the highest number of new infections with 430, followed by Wexford (97), Cork (87), Limerick (84) and Galway (76).
There are currently 1,516 Covid patients being treated in hospitals across the country, 211 of whom are in intensive care.
