SHC SEMIFINALS FROM ALL IRELAND
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 28
Waterford v Kilkenny, Croke Park, 6:00 pm
Waterford often has to be treated for post-traumatic stress when they are hopeful in matches against Kilkenny, but this time, win or lose, they will know that they are progressing.
Kilkenny has admitted, as reluctantly as Donald Trump granting an election, that they actually do tactics; They may also have doubts about themselves.
They have been good in some parts this year, TJ Reid has been instrumental in those good parts, it has been sublime. But other links in the attack line look rusty and seeing Colin Fennelly and Walter Walsh being called to the ground on the final day told its own story.
In form, anyone could damage Waterford’s defense line, which could be its most exposed component this weekend.
Liam Cahill has Waterford well coordinated front and back and plays well organized hurling; will have contingencies made.
The extra week off will be a bonus for Kilkenny. The romantic within me says Waterford overshadow it, but the realist says Kilkenny find a way.
Verdict: Kilkenny
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 29
Limerick v Galway, Croke Park, 4:00 pm
Can’t wait for this one: a battle of beasts. Two great muscular teams with a lot of skill to accompany him.
Losing to Kilkenny in the Leinster final might have been the hit Galway needed. They have a bad game in most of the championships and maybe they removed it from their system.
Limerick, however, is still recovering from the sting Kilkenny gave them last year. It will be a chilling and chilling game, but Limerick will not be caught off guard.
You don’t need to list your strengths; their weaknesses, when fully awake, have yet to be proven. We have said Limerick for the title since the beginning of the year and we are not going to change now.
Verdict: Limerick
