A nasty and harmful type of insect will infest every Dublin home this winter causing big problems unless specific precautions are taken.
Rentokil, Ireland’s leading pest control provider, has issued a warning following an 89% increase in calls for silverfish over the past three months compared to the previous three.
The significant jump in nasty and troublesome insects is due to the drop in weather conditions with the critters seeking shelter indoors as temperatures drop.
Silverfish are about a centimeter long, silver or gray in color, and teardrop-shaped, with tiny scales and two antennae.

They can lay up to 60 eggs each day, so a small problem can quickly become a big one if your facility is invaded.
Dublin accounted for 56% of those advisories and the company forecast an increase in complaints as insects find solace in dark, damp and damp areas like bathrooms, basements and attics between now and next spring.
An infestation of silverfish can damage books, photographs, paintings, plaster, and other household items as they feed on starch and cellulose.
They also feed on human waste, such as dead skin and hair, with their eggs hidden in small crevices or crevices, making them extremely difficult to locate.
