As another Friday night rolls around, a little socially distant jokes could help break the monotony.

With the temperatures falling, there is no better night to sit on the couch and watch some quality chat shows.

Here’s our latest rundown of talk show content for the week and what’s airing tonight. There should be a lot here to keep anyone busy.

Trick or treat?

  • The Late Late Show, RTÉ One, 9.35 pm

It’s hard to believe that it’s been five months since Daniel O’Donnell joined Ryan one last time to chat and sing a song. So naturally, he’s back tonight.

You might take this news as an All Hallows Eve bedtime scare or a chance to dance on cobwebs with Donegal’s finest – that’s what they invented dance for …

He will perform Come What May from his new album and will speak about the ongoing struggles facing the Irish music industry.

Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick he will be talking about the “life-changing event” that happened to him earlier this year, and how he supposedly predicted the pandemic would happen. Since I’ve never seen Super Vet, I can only assume, and hope, that the show’s tune is a reworked version of Rick James’s Superfreak.

Activist and historian Catherine Corless will discuss the importance of this week’s clarification by the government that adoptees and survivors of maternal and child homes have a legal right to access their personal data.

Funny Bernard O’Shea will offer his experience of the midlife crisis, and the chef Donal skehan He will also talk about his recent return to Ireland and how to keep anxiety at bay.

The guests of tonight’s video link are TV presenters Phillip SchofieldY Cat Deeley.

Schofield made headlines earlier this year when he decided to appear on This Morning. He will tell Ryan what led him to speak for the first time about his sexuality, his early days on children’s television, and his friendship with Holly Willoughby.

Deeley, who rose to fame on American television, will discuss her decision to return to the UK after 14 years. Her Irish connection is her husband, Patrick Kielty, so expect a full segment on that.

Ireland is well represented on the red sofa tonight with the actress Jessie buckley, which stars Netflix’s I’m Thinking of Ending Things, and Dermot Kennedy who will perform his current single Giants.

Among the guests joining Graham tonight are the comedian and Strictly contestant. Bill Bailey, Oscar winner Octavia spencer, who is in the new film adaptation of The Witches, by Roald Dahl, BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner, and a children’s comedian and author. David walliams.
