Dana White has confirmed plans for UFC 257 as Conor McGregor v Dustin Poirier will take place at Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.

McGregor is set to return to the Octagon next month, and will face longtime rival Poirier in a rematch of their 2014 fight.

With the fight officially confirmed several weeks ago, UFC President Dana White has officially announced that the main event for UFC 257 will be on Yas Island.

And the big fight will cap off a highly successful week for the promo, with three events planned for Fight Island that week alone.

On Instagram, White announced a triple header that began with featherweight contenders Max Holloway and Calvin Kattar hitting hits on January 16.

In the middle of the week, one of the most talked about prospects in the UFC, Khamzat Chimaev, faces Leon Edwards before the spotlight shifts to McGregor and Poirier.

It comes after Jake Paul claimed his recent comments about Dee Devlin were fair play because Conor McGregor previously spoke about Khabib Nurmagomedov’s wife.

The YouTuber made nasty comments about Devlin in a video posted online last week in which he offered McGregor $ 50 million (€ 41 million) to fight him.

Paul said the UFC star’s fiancé was “a four [out of ten]”and stated that McGregor” could do much better. ”

Defending the comments, he told TMZ: “I don’t give a shit. He (Conor McGregor) spoke about Khabib’s (Nurmagomedov) wife. He said Khabib’s wife looks like a towel. ”

Paul added: “He’s trying his own medicine.

“And now all of a sudden people are very hurt (and saying that) I’m going too far. Fuck you. This is the fighting game.

“Why are people going crazy now all of a sudden? You know, same with Dillon Danis.

“They said shit about religion, Khabib’s religion; fuck those guys.”
