Anderlecht midfielder Josh Cullen has been called up for the Republic of Ireland team for the upcoming games against Slovakia, Wales and Finland.
Cullen, who arrived at the Belgian club from West Ham on Monday, takes the place of the injured Harry Arter. The Nottingham Forest midfielder goes missing with a thigh injury.
Cullen, 24, has two matches for Ireland to his name and trained with Stephen Kenny’s team prior to their departure to Bratislava, where they will face Slovakia in the semi-final of the Euro 2020 play-off on Thursday.
One day the FAI confirmed that a backroom staff member of the international team tested positive for Covid-19. Cullen tested positive for the virus ahead of West Ham’s Carabao Cup tie against Hull on September 22
