A total of 35,000 vaccines are expected to be administered in Ireland by the end of this week.

Health officials have now confirmed a full list of nursing homes where the Pfizer-BioNTech jab will be given in the coming days.

Nursing homes in Cavan, Galway, Mayo, Tipperary, Clare, Kerry, Kilkenny, Waterford, Tipperary, Dublin, Westmeath, Offaly, Louth and Meath will see all vaccine doses delivered and administered on Sunday.

The HSE has confirmed that the vaccinator teams will make another visit to all these locations three weeks later to provide the second puncture.

A spokesperson said: “Vaccinations will be carried out this week in 23 residential care centers, as scheduled.

“By the end of this week we intend to have administered 35,000 vaccines. We will have some stock until our next delivery and then we plan to continue the process the following week.

“This will be done, consistent with future and ongoing deliveries of the vaccine, during a continuous 6-week program at 582 public and private nursing homes across the state.

“Our vaccination teams will administer the vaccines at each of those locations, making 2 separate visits, 3 weeks apart.”
