Covid-19 Ireland Latest: Exact Location of Today’s Cases As Dublin Experiences Big Drop

Another 322 cases of coronavirus were announced today.

Sadly, five other people have also died from Covid-19.

Of the cases reported today;

  • 156 are men / 166 are women
  • 64% are under 45
  • The average age is 37 years.
  • 96 are in Dublin, 35 in Meath, 23 in Cork, 17 in Louth, 16 in Waterford and the remaining 135 cases are distributed in another 18 counties.

The 96 cases in Dublin represent a big drop from Monday, when only 321 cases were reported in the county out of 767 in the Republic overall.

There were also far fewer cases in Cork today, with 23 representing a big drop from the 84 reported on Monday.

There were also large drops in the number of cases in Galway, Carlow, Limerick, and Roscommon, with many other counties experiencing drops or only minor increases.

As of 2 p.m. today, 296 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, a decrease from yesterday’s 322, of which 42 are in ICU, a decrease from yesterday’s 44.

There have been 14 additional hospitalizations in the last 24 hours, compared to 16 additional hospitalizations yesterday.

Dr Tony Holohan, Medical Director of the Department of Health, said: “Due to the efforts of people across Ireland, we are seeing improvements with COVID-19.

“However, we must remember that maintaining this downward trend is now the most crucial.

“The value of our progress depends on continuing the confident behavior that led us to this position.

“I urge everyone to continue like this, to ensure that these initial trends continue.”
